What will our world look like after language has been lost? Perhaps a vast, clear sky, devoid of stars?

Turning the page with the words in a rage
As the anger spills out of the sound.
Trying to read past the meaning, the seed
Of a thought planted deep in the ground.

Roots grasp at rocks and the green leaves and stalks
Waver in the whispering wind.
Telling a tale so revealing, the pale
Faces at windows extend

Tongue-tangled tales
Star-spangled skies
And no one can speak to the cause

A hand out to clutch at an anchor. So much
Has exposed all the meaninglessness -
Opinions and thoughts that connect all the dots
Between pity and self-righteousness.

Grinding the bones, turning teeth into stones
And the ghosts of a terror returned
To haunt sullen dreams and the misguided schemes.
Hillsides eroded and burned.

Tongue-tangled tales
Star-spangled skies
And no one can speak to the cause

Climbing the sides to escape vengeful tides
As the ocean returns to the scene,
Where the words once were spilled, and the words were then milled
Into dust while the waves wash and clean

The words from the page and the anger from rage,
As the saltwater stings in the wounds.
No one remains that can speak to the stains
That forgive as they loosen the sounds.
